Awkwafina

American musician and actor Awkwafina began her career with hilarious hip-hop tracks that addressed sexuality and racial identities with a an incisive and humorous perspective, before expanding her reach into Hollywood. She was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants in Forest Hills Queens her first taste of musician life came through trumpet. After classical and Jazz training her interest in hip-hop grew in her teen years. While in college, she focused on her studies, and then studied women's studies and journalism. For a brief period of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also offered. After graduating, it wasn't until when she decided to turn her attention to music. In 2012, My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet hit and was included in her debut album Yellow Ranger. On the album, there was other hits that went viral, including Queef (body-positive) and NYC Bitchethe cost of $. In addition to early shows like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in movies such as Neighbors as well as Storks.
