Anamaria Marinca is an Romanian actress. She won the British Academy Television Award Best Actress for her role in the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic. The actress fluently speaks French, German and English. Her father is a theatre teacher at one of the country's top drama schools. In the Mangalia Gala of Young Actors in 2000, she took home the Best Female Actor Award 2000. She was chosen as an European Shooting Star by the European Film Promotion Board in 2008. In 2007, she was in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 semaines si2 zile (4 Three Weeks, Four Months, and 2 days) which was directed produced by Cristian Mungiu. The film won two awards at Cannes Film Festival (the Cinema Prize for the French National Education System & the FIPRESCI Prize). In addition, she appeared in Francis Ford Coppola's film Youth Without Youth. She portrayed Yasim Awar in BBC's 5-episode The Last Enemy miniseries. Marinca has appeared in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. She later had a prominent role in the 2014 film Fury where she portrayed an German woman who was named Irma aunt of Emma.
